*~crafty pants~*

I never used to consider myself crafty.  In fact, when I first started dating Dave (who is amazingly artistic) in 2008, I told him that I liked to think of myself as a muse for creative people.  I always have really great creative ideas, but not the skills to make the ideas a reality.  I'm not sure when this all changed.  Maybe it has something to do with working with kids and teens daily?  Or maybe I just found my niche, but now I love to craft!!

I'm obsessed with magazines and have turned them into bags, bowls, and coasters.  I love my laminator like it's my child.  I have more skeins of yarn than dollars in my checking account.  I would do unspeakable things to one day have my very own "craft room"!

In August of 2010, I had ankle surgery to repair a torn tendon.  While home and on the couch for almost two months, my mom asked me to crochet her a scarf.  Although I knew how to chain and single crochet, I had never completed a crochet project in my life.  However, all I had was time on my hands and was able to finish her scarf in three days!  From there, I learned how to make arm warmers and I was hooked (no pun intended!).

With the push of my friend, Abbie, I opened up my own Etsy story and have been pretty successful.  My baby boots paid for almost all of Dave's Christmas presents this past year.  =)  My new obsession is crocheting owl hats and I'm hoping they will be a big hit when the weather gets cooler.  I also love when people ask me to create something new, so please feel free to hit me up with any crocheting suggestions.
